Case Study: Maple Leaf Golf – Turning price increases into savings

Maple Leaf Golf is a UK-based operator managing several golf venues across South East England, including Horton Golf Park, Chichester and Hill Barn. Operated by Richard and Sally Haygarth, the group offers a range of facilities such as 18-hole golf courses, adventure golf, driving ranges with smart technology and academy coaching, with a strong focus on delivering accessible, family-friendly experiences.

In 2025, Maple Leaf Golf undertook a full audit and benchmarking exercise with Regency Purchasing Group/ClubProcure to review existing supplier arrangements and identify opportunities for improvement.

Following a detailed review of supplier pricing and recent increases being passed through by their incumbent provider, the Regency experts implemented a series of strategic product switches. These changes not only mitigated the impact of rising costs but, in many cases, converted proposed price increases into price reductions.

A further area of opportunity was identified within non-food purchasing. By transitioning these items to a sector-specific supplier, Maple Leaf Golf achieved a significant 33% cost reduction, implemented from January 2026.

This case study highlights how targeted procurement expertise and sector-specific supplier partnerships can deliver immediate and measurable savings while maintaining operational quality and consistency.
